My Opinion

A truly top quality example. The dial is flawless, and the bezel is almost as good. The hands appear original, and this watch is one of the nicest examples I know. Probably one of the most expensive, but justified.

The dial has acquired a very slight hint of chocolate without loosing any condition. This is one of the most prized conditions that you can see. Many old school collectors call this subtle brown chocolate, preferring it to the obvious brown tints.

Just to be clear – this is not what the modern world would expect to call Chocolate. (But I like it!)

Provenance:

Acquired December 2021 from a United States Collector

Known work:

Serviced by Simon Freese March 2022

Some additional notes on the Bracelet:

1039 dated 3/70

Measures just over 8 Inches top to top, which is longer than average

I believe the sprung links have been restored, as they are very tight.

There is very little play in the links – it is not possible to make a lateral curve, but I tried (see below)

I would call this condition “Very Good”
