A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE SPECIAL WATCHES FROM A PRIVATE COLLECTOR

145.022-69 (1970) Orange Hand

A wonderful example of a later -69 with the DN90 bezel.

When I acquired it in 2012 in Hong Kong, the central chrono hand was broken, and so I replaced it at the time with an Omega Orange hand, distressed to age. I took this decision as you can see the hour minute hands are beautifully aged, and I was not confident of finding a match at the time – and I preferred this look. There are a few examples known where owners originally asked the Omega shop to fit this hand, though this is not the case her.

Of course, a new owner could easily return to standard, by fitting a replacement hand.

Provenance:

Acquired by me in 2012.

Known work:

On service in about 2013, the original central chrono seconds hand broke, and so I replaced it with an aged Omega orange hand. While intended originally to be a temporary solution, I think it looks so good I left it on.
