The dial, which is the heart of this watch, took about a year to get to this state, and is one of two blue dials that I made. I spent a lot of time and money to get these two dials, and they had to be returned for repainting three times. The colour is taken from a small photograph in the back of the Goldberger book as I love the colour – it is a perfect match. The movement was fully serviced May 2022 and is perfect.
The bezel is an original Omega carrier ring, with a reproduction NASA style bezel that was made by a friend of mine using the drawings of an original.
The Case is a new, unused service case, reference 145.0012. It has some very minor storage damage. (unnoticeable really)
The pushers are new service pushers.
The crown is an Omega NAID crown – I am not sure for sure what it is originally for but I like the look and rarity of it.
The hands are original vintage tritium, and deliberately not perfect.
My idea was to create a watch that looks like an original from the 1960’s.
The price is based on the cost of a serviced movement, and the value of the new service case. The blue dial was a labour of love, and cost me a great deal in both money and time, and I have not added that cost in.
