A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE SPECIAL WATCHES FROM A PRIVATE COLLECTOR

2998-2

An affordable example of an early 2998 with the short sub dial indices  – a very rare dial. The Lollipop hand has had tritium applied to it at some point, as it was originally radium. (But no one really wants that). The crown is an early NAID crown, rarely seen.

The dial was in a terrible condition with markers that had lost all lume, except in the parts it had turned black. So I sent the dial to James Heyman for attention and he re laid the markers. If the markers were original, I think this watch would sell for double this price.

All things considered, this watch has a collection of the rarest parts for a 2998 – the lollipop, the pulsation’s bezel, the NAID crown, as well as the early short indices dial. The alpha hands have a transverse curve.

This watch comes with an extract, which is not possible today.

This watch came to me from a dealer many years ago, and while I do not know its history, the parts are all contemporary and original specifications. The pushers look very clean, but if they are service they are vintage specification ones not modern, which are slightly heavier.

All things considered, this is possibly the best looking early 2998 for the best price
