Serial: 6,154,155 Reference: 1665 Year: Circa 1979 Dial: Mk II “Rail Dial”
An attractive Rolex Sea-Dweller 1665 Great White with the distinctive Mk II Rail Dial, identified by the aligned chronometer/certification text that gives this dial its collector nickname.
The matte black dial is very clean with strong white printing and even golden tritium hour markers. The tritium hands have aged to a closely sympathetic colour.
The period-correct Rolex aluminium bezel insert has developed an attractive tropical burgundy/brown fade, retaining its aged luminous pearl. Fitted with a high-domed acrylic crystal of the T39/Superdome type.
Strong case with clearly legible 6,154,155 serial engraving. The case has been refinished during its life but retains substantial proportions.
A particularly attractive Rail Dial 1665, combining a clean matte dial, strong golden tritium and unusually coloured naturally aged bezel insert.
Head only. No bracelet, box or papers.
